The Chair of Steel Construction and Steel Composite Structures is looking for a student assistant (SHK) or research assistant with a Bachelor's degree (WHB) to support our team as of 01.05.2026 - either in the area of research and/or teaching.
Your tasks
Research area
- Collaboration in experimental and numerical investigations in the field of structural monitoring
- Application of sensor technology to test setups
- Evaluation and interpretation of measurement data
Teaching
- Taking on organizational tasks (e.g. revising lecture slides)
- Checking preliminary examination results
Your profile
- Enrollment at the University of Siegen
- Good written and spoken German skills
- Structured work, enjoy teamwork, initiative and a sense of responsibility
Research area
- Interest in working in a scientific environment and in familiarizing yourself with complex tasks
- Experience in data analysis (e.g. with MATLAB) and/or numerical simulation (preferably COMSOL Multiphysics) is an advantage
Teaching area
- Enrollment in the Civil Engineering degree program
The position offers versatile insights into different research and teaching areas of our professorship. Part of the work can be done flexibly in the home office. In addition, there is the opportunity to actively participate in scientific publications. We offer a friendly and supportive working environment in which independent work and professional exchange are encouraged.
Conditions:
- Up to 5 SWS (increase possible)
- Employment on the basis of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz
- Limited to 6 months (extension possible)
