Key Handover in Physics Education
Official Key Handover Ceremony as Part of the Colloquium
On September 1, 2026, the chairholder, Prof. Dr. Oliver Schwarz, will retire. As part of the physics colloquium, the handover of the keys to his successor, Prof. Dr. Volker Heck—who will assume this role starting in September—took place on June 11, 2026. Since 2012, Geography has been part of the Physics Education and Astronomy Research Group. Since then, the group has been committed to closely integrating the two disciplines—both academically and pedagogically—with a focus on students from various types of schools, and to raising their international profile through active research.
