Study on the relationship between analytical theology and lay theology published
The results of the DFG project on the relationship between analytical theology and lay theology have been published. The volume is entitled "Zwischen Logik und Narration" (Between Logic and Narration) and was published by Verlag Karl Alber (ISBN: 978-3-495-99053-7). The starting point was the thesis that both theologies follow their own laws and can therefore hardly be related to each other. However, the study revealed that many of the differences that had previously been assumed between the two theologies were primarily due to their respective forms: Analytical theology occurs in composed texts, while lay theology occurs primarily in conversation. If the different forms are factored out of the results, there are many family resemblances between the two theologies, both in terms of content and the structure of the argumentation.
