New materials, sensor technology and artificial intelligence
Sensors and AI have become an integral part of our lives. Whether in medicine, vehicle technology, security and monitoring systems or automation processes in industry - intelligent sensor systems and AI are increasingly shaping the way we work and live. They improve efficiency and safety and enable new applications.
This profile area researches new sensor and nanotechnologies as well as highly efficient (bio)materials. The new INCYTE research center, which provides state-of-the-art nanoanalytics and cleanroom technology, develops interdisciplinary solutions that combine basic physical and chemical research with microelectronic sensor technology and AI-supported data processing.
The research includes the development and application of sensors for life science, environmental technology, intelligent structures and innovative imaging techniques for automation and safety technology. The central point of contact is the Center for Sensor Systems (ZESS).
Topics such as biomolecular sensor technology, personalized digital medicine and sensor-based materials for diagnostics are researched at the Research Center of Micro and Nanochemistry and (Bio)Technology (Cµ).
