Evidence-based design of financial education: Effectiveness & development research on good learning & performance tasksTitle of the project
The FiBiWELL project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Implementation at schools in Baden-Württemberg has been approved by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport. Consumer and financial education is a central task of schools and is anchored in the subject of economics/career and study orientation (WBS) and as a guiding perspective in the educational plan for lower secondary level. It promotes the education of young consumers and future economic actors and aims to protect consumers as consumers, investors, policyholders and borrowers and to enable them to act responsibly and self-determined.

Project description
This is precisely the aim of FiBiWELL. Decision researchers from the Max Planck Institute in Bonn, business didactics experts from the Ludwigsburg University of Education and experts in digital business education from the University of Siegen have joined forces for this purpose. Over several years, innovative, digital, practical and action-oriented task formats were developed and optimized in close cooperation with textbook authors, seminar leaders, subject didactics experts and computer scientists. Schools are now invited to try out the tasks in class and take part in the scientific evaluation.
