Firewall

Network access between different services of the University of Siegen is generally restricted by a firewall (or sometimes access control lists). This is important for security by preventing unauthorized access. Individual access can be enabled with specific firewall rules.

Requesting firewall approvals

Individual access can be requested via our support desk. Please note that we can only approve this if you are responsible for the respective system.

Please provide the following data in your request:

  • Source IP address

  • Destination IP address

  • Destination port

  • TCP or UDP
