Housing

Housing is offered to research groups of the university's faculties as well as working groups of its central facilities. Hardware is integrated into the network infrastructure of the data center, which has high performance and is highly available.

The offer includes standardized data center services, including climate control, redundant and fail-safe power supply, and the possibility to use the central backup-and-restore infrastructure of the ZIMT.

Requirements for servers:

• 19" rack installation with ventilation from front to back,
• Out-of-band management via 1Gbit IP/Ethernet via a dedicated connection (HP ILO, Dell iDRAC, etc.),
• even number of network interfaces (min. 2), 2 x 10Gbit fiber optic multi-mode, each with the option of coupling an LACP port channel,
• redundant power supply with at least two C13/C14 or C19/C20 power supply units,
• an ongoing maintenance contract.

Application:

Before procuring the server, please contact the head of the infrastructure department at erna.enders@uni-siegen.de. Please provide the following details about the desired server:

• Name of the server,
• Manufacturer + type,
• Number of height units of the device,
• Date of procurement,
• serial number and service date, if applicable,
• the purpose of the server.
