Your future begins in Siegen
The curriculum for the dual degree program in computer science is identical to that of the bachelor’s degree program in computer science. In close coordination with the actual coursework at the university, students engage in practical work and training at a company, thereby achieving a balance between professional work and academic education.
To this end, students are employed by the company from the very beginning. They attend classes during the lecture period and complete work and training phases at the company during semester breaks.

A close integration of theory and practice.
The opportunity to pursue a dual degree program in computer science at the University of Siegen was what motivated me to stay in the region and complete my studies in cooperation with a local company. Already in the first few semesters, synergies quickly emerged thanks to the close integration of theory and practice, which continued throughout my entire degree program and significantly enriched my experience. What stood out in particular was the opportunity to complete some practice-oriented modules at the company and to tailor them to my area of interest in consultation with the company. Another advantage was the freedom of choice within the specialization track and the associated opportunity to either specialize early in the bachelor’s program or maintain a broader focus. The coordination between the department and the company regarding the topic for my bachelor’s thesis also went smoothly and enabled me to successfully complete my degree. Building on this excellent foundation, I was able to launch my career without any problems, and I continue to benefit immensely from the expertise in both worlds that I gained during my studies. I am very pleased that the program is now being offered in a new version, and I would still choose the dual degree program in computer science at the University of Siegen today.
