Student Voices: Insights into the Accounting, Audition & Taxation Program

Alumna der Accounting, Auditing and Taxation

Drawn to the unique setting in the heart of the city.

What I appreciate most about the Master’s program in Accounting, Auditing & Taxation is the supportive learning environment. Small class sizes make it easy to actively participate, and the professors bring real-world experience that makes the subjects come alive. Beyond the classroom, I’ve gained valuable connections with peers and professionals, which has opened doors to internships, student jobs, and exciting career opportunities.
What stood out to me most was the variety and flexibility of the electives. With so many different focus areas to choose from, I was able to shape my studies around my own interests and dive deeper into the topics I found most exciting. This kind of freedom not only let me build my education in a personalized way but also gave me the ideal preparation for a career in auditing, tax consulting, industry, or research.
One of the things that drew me to the University of Siegen was the Unteres Schloss campus and its unique setting in the heart of the city. Everything I needed was right there—lecture halls, the library, and the cafeteria—all just steps away. With cafés and shops close by, campus life felt vibrant and connected. The short distances made daily life so easy and often led to spontaneous meetups with classmates, whether over a coffee at the campus café or a drink in the Upper Town district.

Examination Regulations/Degree Plans/Module Handbooks/Internship Regulations

Examination Regulations (known in German as Prüfungsordnungen, or PO) define the basic structures of a degree program (including admission requirements and curriculum). Students are automatically subject to the current version of the PO when they enroll for their first semester. Even if new PO are issued during your studies, you will still be subject to the rules of the original version according to which you enrolled (presuming the PO have not otherwise been revoked).
Each degree plan represents the recommended ideal course of study for a given subject and is a constituent part of any PO.
Supplementary regulations and detailed information for each module (such as requirements for taking a written examination and the content of the modules/events) can be found in the module handbooks.
The internship regulations define the conditions under which the compulsory or optional internships must be completed.

Before the start of the lecture period, we recommend that you review the degree plan for your degree program so that you know which modules are planned for the start of your studies
