Avoiding Plagiarism in the Age of AI
With generative AI tools like ChatGPT becoming part of daily academic life, the boundaries between inspiration, assistance, and plagiarism are more blurred than ever. How can you ensure your writing remains original and ethically sound while using these technologies? Plagiarism is not a new issue in academia, but what counts as plagiarism is becoming increasingly complex. Is it acceptable to use AI to draft a paragraph? What about rewriting one? Where do transparency, attribution, and personal responsibility come in? And how can academic institutions respond to these shifting norms?
