Do I stack too high? - The Impostor Phenomenon in Science
It is not uncommon for scientists to doubt their own competencies and achievements and have the feeling of being an impostor who runs the risk of being exposed at any moment. This phenomenon is known as impostor or impostor syndrome and is mainly described for high-achieving people. It often affects scientists who do not attribute or recognize their successes to their own achievements and abilities.

In practical exercises, we will look at our own biographies of personal and professional development and identify hidden beliefs. We will address the question of why the impostor phenomenon is affecting more and more scientists and what links there are to mental health. Finally, we look at strategies to work effectively against negative thoughts. In addition, we will look at the question of how to counter the impostor phenomenon among employees from the perspective of managers.
