Central Welcome Week for First-Year Students for the 2026/27 Winter Semester
On Monday, October 12, 2026, the University of Siegen invites its new students to the central first-semester welcome event and the “Market of Opportunities” in the Audimax. Starting at 10 a.m., first-year students can look forward to an informative program that will give them a first impression of university life and provide helpful orientation.
Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese, the university’s Rector, will welcome the first-year students. A representative from the City of Siegen will present the diverse opportunities for student life in the city. In addition, Dr. Insa Deeken, Executive Director of the Siegen Student Services Organization, as well as representatives from the AStA (General Student Committee), will address the students.
A highlight of the program is the panel discussion, during which faculty and students will share personal insights into studying and daily life at the University of Siegen and offer helpful tips.
At the same time, the “Market of Opportunities” will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the foyer of the Audimax. Here, new students can learn about student initiatives and the university’s wide range of offerings.
