Students don't just learn by understanding - they remember content better,
if it is linked to stories, images or surprising structures
. Our memory loves patterns, emotions and narratives. This is exactly where
stories and mnemonics come in: They transform dry facts into
vivid images, create links between topics and facilitate recall at
crucial moments - be it in exams or later in everyday working life. In
this workshop, you will discover how classic mnemonics work
and how they can be combined with elements of storytelling. You will try out
different methods yourself and apply them directly to your own
teaching content - whether vocabulary, scientific concepts, legal
definitions or complex processes. We also reflect on the
limits: Where do stories and mnemonics support understanding, and
where do they threaten to slip into mere "memorization"?
