Eight bachelor’s and master’s students from the Department of Architecture at the University of Siegen, in collaboration with the AWO district association, have developed designs for a sustainable and inclusive expansion of the AWO workshop in Deuz.

As part of the exhibition “N_AS – Neue Architekturschule Siegen,” which is on view at the Galerie am Weissenhof, Stuttgart from July 23 to October 18, 2026, offering insights into the transformation of the former printing house in downtown Siegen into a teaching, learning, and studio facility, students Can Suvermez, Maximilian Mesch, and Aileen Kothe appeared as guests on the “Stuttgarter Radionauten” podcast.

During the last lecture of the summer semester of 2026, the Department of Structural Engineering held its traditional beam breaking test.

New School of Architecture in Siegen: When Education Helps Shape Its Own Space

Hannah Schiefer from the Department of Architecture/N_AS at the University of Siegen, together with Nina-Marie Schüchter (Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf), has edited the anthology *The Unpredictable: Collaboration, Complicity, and Co-Creativity as Artistic Principles *. The volume brings together contributions from architecture, art, and cultural studies, as well as related disciplines, and examines the unplannable as a constitutive element of creative processes.
