LEOwiese AR

The LEOwiese is an approximately 2,000 square meter open space at the southern end of the Adolf-Reichwein-Straße campus, where there are various facilities for groups. With a permanent volleyball court, benches and snack islands as well as a barbecue area, the LEOwiese is an ideal meeting place on campus.

Games and sports facilities

In cooperation with the University Sports Department, the University Library lends out various games and sports equipment that can be used on the LEOwiese. The items can be searched for via the University Library's Katalog Plus. Items can be borrowed with a valid library card at the circulation desk of the Main Library Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR).

Rental conditions:

The games and sports equipment can be borrowed "for use on the LEOwiese" for the day in question - they can be returned from Monday to Friday by 8 pm at the latest, Saturdays by 6 pm. If the loan period is exceeded, the usual late fees will be charged. The borrower is liable for loss or gross damage.

Regular play explanations:

After the opening, a presentation of the materials will take place on the lawn once a week during the lecture period, weather permitting. The SGM assistant will explain the rental and game ideas.

Barbecue area and seating

There is now a barbecue area with a swing barbecue and benches on the LEOwiese, which can be reserved and used by all members of the university. A transport trolley will be provided for the booked date, which contains barbecue attachments (swivel arm, grill grate) and additional accessories, e.g. charcoal shovel, chimney starter, fireproof ash garbage can and bucket, cleaning wire brush, barbecue gloves, fire extinguisher, folding table, garbage bags, charcoal, barbecue lighter, etc.

Barbecue package (Bistro Studierendenwerk)

From June 13, 2025, the Studierendenwerk offers a "grill package" for self-grilling in the AR-Bistro. This contains 10 raw sausages (meat or vegan) and 12 bottles of Krombacher (beer or non-alcoholic beer). The package also contains 5 bread rolls, ketchup and mustard, wooden barbecue tongs and barbecue charcoal (2.5 kg).
