Dear colleagues,
We cordially invite you to the 3rd networking meeting "Case Collections in Exchange" on November 24 & 25 at the University of Siegen. In addition to the digital meetings that now take place monthly, we would now like to deepen the exchange in presence again - with a thematic focus and at the same time with room for open concerns.
Case collections are digital offerings that are made available for studying, teaching and research - but they only become effective when they are actually used. At this year's meeting, we therefore want to focus in particular on the question of how case collections are used in university teaching at different locations - and how their didactic use can be further developed and supported.
The exchange is aimed at all those who are active in the development, supervision or use of case collections.
Together we would like to discuss, among other things
- What (implicit or explicit) didactic concepts underlie their use?
- What challenges and conditions for success can be identified?
- How can the didactic use be strengthened through accompanying materials, university didactic offers or cooperation?
- What conclusions can be drawn from didactic usage scenarios for the design, further development and structure of case collections themselves?
Format
The meeting thrives on collegial exchange and is designed as an open, participatory format. On the first day, two short keynote speeches will introduce the topic before central questions on the didactic embedding of case collections in higher education are worked on together in a thematically focused workshop phase. The workshop topics and groups will be developed on the spot - based on the perspectives, questions and examples provided by the participants. The second day is open to any topic: Building on a joint collection of current concerns, (new) topics can be taken up or explored in greater depth. The aim is to make common challenges visible, further develop relevant issues and explore further opportunities for cooperation.
