Commemoration of Anti-War Day on September 1, 2025

The DGB Südwestfalen cordially invites you to the commemoration event for Anti-War Day 2025.

The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation from National Socialism. The German Trade Union Confederation is taking this important historical date as an opportunity to commemorate the responsibility that arises from our history on Anti-War Day - for peace, democracy and a resilient civil society.

1. September / Holzkalender auf einem Tisch

Under the title "Anti-War Day 2025 - Remembrance. Responsibility. Attitude." the commemorative event will take place with contributions from civil society, academia, culture and municipal responsibility - including the Rector of the University of Siegen, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese.
The evening will be accompanied by music from the well-known band Microphone Mafia.

As part of the event, a new memorial plaque will be inaugurated at the site of the former House of Labor in Siegen - an important site of the regional labor movement.

To take part in the event, registration is required by August 27 by e-mail to siegen@dgb.de or by telephone on 0271/313450.
