Doing a doctorate - is that something for me? How do I go about finding out? And what are the
first steps on the way to a dissertation project, how do I find a supervisor, who is even an option? What about admission, enrollment, the supervision agreement? What funding options do I have? How long does a doctorate take? What are the career opportunities within and outside academia with a doctorate? What risks of a doctorate should be kept in mind?
The event, which is aimed at students and graduates of all subjects as well as doctoral candidates in the early stages of their project, will systematically provide answers to all of these questions. There will be sufficient time for participants to ask additional or in-depth questions. The differences between the subject cultures will be addressed throughout, so that participants from all subjects will get their money's worth, as will special cases such as external doctoral candidates or student teachers.
Those who prefer to discuss confidential or specific questions in person can arrange a consultation appointment with the speaker after the event. Take advantage of the HYT's expertise - trial and error is definitely not the right way to go with your presumably first dissertation.
