"Better" funding lines for students and lecturers

The University of Siegen is funding projects to improve teaching and study conditions with three internal Better funding lines in 2025. The funding is provided from quality improvement funds. Applications can still be submitted until June 30.

The three "Besser" funding lines give students and teaching staff the opportunity to actively help shape teaching and study conditions.

The "Besser" funding lines offer teachers and students at the University of Siegen the opportunity to realize innovative projects and actively shape the university landscape. Funding is provided from quality improvement funds and is announced by the Commission for Quality Improvement in Teaching and Studies.

Important deadlines for applicants: Applications for "Besser lehren!" and "Besser studieren!" can be submitted for the current funding period until June 30, 2025.

The funding lines at a glance

1) "Teach better!" - for lecturers

This funding line provides financial resources to support university teaching (analogue/digital) at the University of Siegen for projects to develop, test and evaluate analogue and/or digital teaching, learning and/or examination formats.
All teaching staff at the University of Siegen are eligible to apply. Funding is provided for material resources including auxiliary staff (with an explicit description of the integration of purchases into the project).
Deadlines 30.06.2025 and 31.12.2025

2) "Study better!" - for students

This funding line provides financial resources for student projects.

Students or student initiatives at the University of Siegen are eligible to apply. Funding is provided for material resources (incl. auxiliary staff with an explicit description of the involvement of purchases for the project) for a maximum of 1 year.

Deadlines 31.03.; 30.06.; 30.09. and 31.12.2025

3) "Better intact!" - for teachers

The new funding line "Besser intakt!" supports teachers at the University of Siegen with financial resources for necessary repairs and replacement purchases for equipment and materials used in teaching.
