CARES Research Project – Community Access & Remote Empowerment for Self-Care
The University of Siegen is pleased to be part of the international research project CARES – Community Access & Remote Empowerment for Self-care. In this two-year German-Canadian collaborative project, the University of Siegen (Germany), Health Espresso Inc. (Canada), and Localino Heuel & Löher GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) are working together on innovative solutions for digital healthcare.
The goal of CARES is to develop an integrated system that combines modern sensor technology, digital health applications, and artificial intelligence. The aim is to continuously collect, consolidate, and intelligently analyze vital signs, movement data, and other health-related information. This will enable early detection of changes in health and the identification of health-related correlations. Based on this, meaningful health indicators and AI-supported predictive models will be developed.
The Medical Informatics and Graph-Based Systems (MIGS) working group combines methods of artificial intelligence with sensor data analysis. The focus of the research is on people and the question of how data can be used to derive practical knowledge for intelligent systems. International collaboration combines scientific research with the technological and application-oriented expertise of the participating companies. Together, the goal is to develop digital health solutions that enable the early detection of health risks, support preventive care, and empower people to lead lives that are as safe and self-determined as possible in their own homes.
The University of Siegen looks forward to collaborating with all German and Canadian project partners and to contributing to the further development of intelligent, connected, and patient-centered healthcare.
