DGPs Summer School 2026 in Siegen

Three days of discussion, new perspectives, and valuable connections at the DGPs Summer School in Siegen.

Psychology in Action

Translation, Responsibility, and Impact in Times of Radical Change

The German Psychological Society (DGPs) held its Summer School in Siegen from July 10th to 12th, entitled "Psychology in Action – Translation, Responsibility, and Impact in Times of Epochal Change". Over 70 researchers, primarily from early career stages, participated. Kai Horstmann welcomed the participants, and Vera Fahrner participated herself. We gained valuable insights and contacts, and we thank the DGPs for this excellent opportunity!

About the Person

Vera Fahrner

In her doctoral dissertation, Vera Fahrner examines the attitudes—or “mental models”—that potential future users hold regarding renewable fuels. In this context, the inclusion of political and environmental attitudes is particularly crucial, in addition to personality traits. In her dissertation, she first focuses on developing a measurement tool to assess mental models in passenger and commercial transportation. The goal is to subsequently use this tool to determine which components of a mental model can be altered through interventions that vary across individuals within an experience sampling design.
