Graffiti workshop brings diversity and cohesion to the wall
Creative freedom for all
Under the guidance of Siegen graffiti artist Julian Irlich, the participants transformed the façade of the AR-HB building into a colorful canvas with their spray cans.
Two large letterings - "Diversity" and "Cohesion" - were first drawn in striking letters on the outside wall of the former Haardter Berg School. The participants then filled the surfaces with their personal thoughts. Whether with handprints, colorful patterns, terms or symbols - there were no limits to their creativity.
"It's exciting to see how many different perspectives become visible in this joint work of art," said Prof. Dr. Petra Vogel, initiator and Vice-Rector for Young Talent, Diversity and International Affairs. "The workshop shows impressively how we as a university live diversity and at the same time want to strengthen cohesion through such activities."
The event was deliberately designed to be low-threshold: without registration, open to all, with room for spontaneous ideas. The result was not only a permanently visible work of art on campus - but also a symbol of an open, diverse and supportive university community.
