Nomination for the Teaching Award of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities

Kai Hilpisch

Lecturers and their courses from SoSe 2025 and WiSe 2025/26 can still be nominated until 31.01.26!

In order to make good teaching visible alongside research and to encourage discussion about examples of best practice, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities awards two teaching prizes each year for individual courses. Nominations must be submitted using this form.

Eligible nominees and possible nominees

The nomination must be submitted by at least 5 participants in the nominated course.

In principle, all lecturers are eligible for nomination. Teachers can be nominated with regard to a specific course. In the case of co-teaching, the application can also refer to several lecturers. Teachers can be awarded a maximum of one teaching prize per calendar year.

Proposal deadlines

Proposals for the teaching award are accepted until January 31st of the winter semester and the previous summer semester.

The QVM Commission of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities decides annually at the beginning of February on the awarding of the teaching prizes for the previous winter and summer semester.

Endowment

For academic staff (WiMi, LfbA, A(O)R, (O)StR (also for secondments)), the prize is endowed with €500 (in the case of co-teaching, the money is distributed among the lecturers if nominated accordingly). The money is transferred to the cost center of the respective professorship or the respective PSP element and can be used for university matters.

Award ceremony and presentation

The teaching prizes are awarded annually. The award winners present the concept of the award-winning course in the Faculty Salon.
