University closed until 1 p.m. on January 12

André Zeppenfeld

Due to the current weather situation in Siegen-Wittgenstein, the buildings will remain closed until Monday (January 12, 2026) at 1 pm. Teaching will take place remotely in the mornings.

Due to the current weather forecasts for tomorrow morning and the existing official severe weather warning for black ice, the University of Siegen will remain closed on Monday, January 12, 2026, up to and including 13:00.

For the period up to 13:00, the regulations last made for Friday will continue to apply. This applies in particular to teaching in digital formats.

Supervisors and employees are requested to coordinate accordingly when agreeing on any work to be performed on site, taking this circumstance into account.

The university will reopen from 13:00. However, it cannot be guaranteed that all on-site service functions will be available without restriction from this time, especially in the area of building management.

The Rectorate asks managers and teams to pass on this information promptly so that all members of the University are informed in good time.

Current status: January 11, 7 p.m.
