Welfare State

The welfare state is under immense pressure today: the economy, climate change, migration, demographic shifts, and the digital transformation are putting its viability to the test. Growing social inequality is fueling doubts about whether the welfare state can still deliver on its promises. These debates are not merely academic; they directly concern justice, solidarity, and social security. How can the welfare state be preserved under today’s conditions, and what options does the future hold? And what role does civic education play in this?
