Inclusive youth in the Olpe district

Project description

Jugend-Inklusiv is a research project conducted by the Vocational and Business Education working group at the University of Siegen - under the direction of Prof. Dr. Ulrike Buchmann - which investigates new curricular approaches in the educational process of young adults. In cooperation with the research and university school Berufskolleg des Kreises Olpe (BKO)
experimental field tests are being carried out and scientifically evaluated in order to obtain trend-setting findings for an innovative curriculum design, which can contribute to solving an urgent social need for action via the newly established International Refugee Classes (IFK) at the Berufskolleg Olpe as well as to the profiling of the BKO within the framework of school development processes. In addition, fundamental impulses for the professionalization of pedagogical staff in the courses of study at the University of Siegen (LA BK, BAStEI) can be expected.

For the research group, the cognitive interest in the development and unfolding of human capacity is central; aesthetic approaches are accorded central importance with regard to the formation of a culture of thinking, feeling and wanting. In this respect, the research process interlinks educational science, psychology, sociology and art (pedagogy) methods in a new way in order to initiate future-oriented and sustainable research that provides impetus for both theory formation and practical action.

Jugend inklusiv im Kreis Olpe is funded as a "regional research partnership" by the University of Siegen.
