Quality and development
As a system-accredited university, the University of Siegen guarantees the highest quality in teaching and studies. It regularly uses external feedback and systematically integrates external expertise into the further development of teaching and studies. Quality management creates opportunities, promotes innovation and supports a student-oriented teaching and learning culture. Interdisciplinary exchange and external expertise strengthen the university in its role as a learning organization. This creates an open, reflective and future-oriented quality culture.

As a system-accredited university, it is our aim to ensure the highest quality in teaching and studies and to continuously optimize and further develop our degree programs and courses. Quality management is a central tool for creating opportunities and promoting the innovative capacity of the subjects. It provides the basis for the university's own responsibility for the quality of studies and for a student-centered teaching and learning culture. Quality in teaching and studies is supported by a common quality culture characterized by openness, reflection, critical debate and the desire for further development. Central institutions and decentralized quality management and university didactics offices actively support the further development of teaching and studies and the skills development of teaching staff. University didactics training courses, which are regularly reviewed and coordinated, support teaching staff in the (further) development of their teaching.
Quality management supports reflective exchange and opens up the opportunity for internal university transfer and the joint development of different subjects and subject cultures. The university as a learning organization is networked across the university; it regularly uses external feedback and systematically integrates external expertise into the further development of teaching and studies
The further development of study programs and teaching is systematic and subject-related; it is based on the regular observation and evaluation of study programs and reflection on teaching. Quality management is a partner of the subjects in the evaluation, collection and analysis of data and supports the further development of teaching and studies. The trusting cooperation between the various institutions and subjects ensures the success of a reflective development and the realization of the quality culture. It opens up opportunities for all teaching staff and students and provides the structures to redesign and jointly develop teaching and studies.
