Quality management instruments
Schools IV's quality management system includes two instruments for the continuous improvement of quality in teaching and learning: firstly, course-related annual reviews and secondly, regular course evaluations.
Annual meetings
Annual meetings are held between students, lecturers and staff for each degree program. These are convened once a year for each degree program by those responsible for the program. The aim is to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the degree program with all those involved, define potential for improvement and develop a plan for implementing the suggestions.
This strictly confidential meeting serves as a platform for discussing current problems relating to the course or teaching organization that have not yet been resolved or addressed in the Q-circle. Minutes must be taken for each annual meeting, in which the agreed measures, responsible persons and deadlines for solving the problems are defined. In order to ensure that the measures are implemented quickly, the processing status is reported back to the QM coordinator after three months at the latest.
In addition, all points are followed up in the following annual meeting.

Course evaluations
Course evaluations are carried out every semester for at least two Bachelor's and Master's courses per lecturer. The evaluations of selected courses are carried out using paper-based questionnaires that are analyzed in the automated EVASYS system. Lecturers receive the questionnaires in the middle of the lecture period so that they have sufficient time to discuss the results with the students and respond to suggestions and criticism.
The framework conditions regarding the content and scope of the questionnaire are specified by the Dean's Office and supplemented by the specific circumstances of the respective department. The use and evaluation of the results is defined in the evaluation regulations . Only the lecturers themselves, the dean and the vice dean for teaching have access to the results.
In addition, students and lecturers have the opportunity to register further courses for evaluation. Please contact the QM coordinator for this purpose.
