Borrowing media

To find the materials you’re looking for, you can search our Katalog plus.
The book collections are systematically organized and generally arranged in open-access sections. You can take books from the open-access section off the shelf yourself and check them out using your library card or an activated USiCard/ Uni Siegen app at the circulation desk or at the self-checkout kiosks in the Main Library on Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) and the Unteres Schloss Branch Library (US). 
You can request items from the stacks at or audiovisual media from the media collection at via the Catalog Plus.
Items with white or green call number labels are available for checkout. Red labels and white labels with a red stripe indicate the reference collection and may only be used on-site. The loan period is generally 60 days. You can renew the loan period yourself online through your library account.

Placing loan reservations

The item you need is currently on? You can place a reservation on that item via the button “Vormerken” (“reserve”) in the Katalog plus. As soon as the item is returned, you will be informed by e-mail that it can be picked up at the respective (branch) library. You can find an overview of your placed reservations and media ready for pickup in your library account
