The Master's degree program in Culture, History, Society will give you your own understanding of the connection between culture and society.
The Master's degree program is aimed at graduates from the participating disciplines of English studies, architectural history, Protestant theology, German studies, history, Catholic theology, art history, media studies, musicology, philosophy, Romance studies and social sciences in order to bring them into a cultural studies discourse and to enable diverse methodological approaches from the participating disciplines.
The interdisciplinary approach, which focuses on different periods, philosophical, media studies, religious, social science or linguistic concepts, conflicts and developments, is studied in a question-oriented manner, so that an individual focus is possible.

As a graduate of the M.A. in Culture, History, Society, you will have developed a wide range of academic skills that qualify you for various professional fields. These include fields of work in publishing, politics, media or foundations, international relations, social movements and, in particular, all areas of intercultural communication.
The degree also prepares you for a doctorate.
- Bachelor's degree in a degree program/combination of the following disciplines: English studies, architectural history, Protestant theology, German studies, history, Catholic theology, art history, media studies, musicology, philosophy, Romance studies and social sciences or
- a first professionally qualifying university degree in a comparable course of study.

Examination regulations including study plans and module descriptions
Framework Examination Regulations (RPO-M) and the General Subject-Specific Regulations of the Subject Examination Regulations (PHIL-FPO-M) define the general framework conditions for studying in Siegen and at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
In addition, the Subject Examination Regulations of the individual (partial) degree programs (FPOs) define the basic structures of a (partial) degree program (e.g. admission requirements and content to be studied). The subject examination regulations are accompanied by course plans, which represent the recommended exemplary course of study in the individual subjects, as well as module descriptions (content-related information on modules).
The current version of an FPO automatically applies to students when they enrol for their first semester.
