Interdisciplinary, supported by the subjects of political science and sociology, the Master's in Social Sciences offers you a graduate education that is both research- and practice-oriented. The focus is on theories, topics and methods of international and intercultural comparative political science and sociology.
During your studies, you will directly experience the research questions currently being asked by the social sciences and the methods they use to answer these questions. The range of subjects and methods on offer is diverse and you will receive the best possible training for your future career, in which you will be expected to be familiar with the latest research or be able to carry out social science research yourself.

1) Bachelor's degree in social sciences, political science or sociology or a degree in a comparable degree program with a grade of at least "good" (2.5).
2) In addition, proof of subject-specific knowledge of political science, sociology or the social sciences amounting to at least 45 CP in the core subject or 18 CP in the supplementary subject is required. Knowledge of the methods of empirical social research and/or social science theories must be demonstrated.

Examination regulations including study plans and module descriptions
Framework Examination Regulations (RPO-M) and the General Subject-Specific Regulations of the Subject Examination Regulations (PHIL-FPO-M) define the general framework conditions for studying in Siegen and at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
In addition, the Subject Examination Regulations of the individual (sub-)degree programs (FPOs) define the basic structures of a (sub-)degree program (e.g. admission requirements and content to be studied). The subject examination regulations are accompanied by study course plans, which represent the recommended exemplary course of study in the individual subjects, as well as module descriptions (content-related information on modules).
The current version of an FPO automatically applies to students when they enrol for their first semester.
