Autonomous Cultural Department (KultKaff)
First of all, the name: Some people will think of hooded stone-throwers from Hafenstrasse when they hear the word 'autonomous'. But it's not quite that radical. Usually there is a paid position for cultural work in the AStA and thus a centrally organized student culture at the universities. At the University of Siegen, however, students who wanted to contribute their own creativity and cultural ideas came together. As a result, the cultural department was separated from the AStA and now works 'autonomously', detached from the AStA structures. So nothing to be put off by.
As can be seen from the previous paragraph, all students who are interested in cultural work are involved in the Autonomous Cultural Department - on a voluntary basis, of course. As we do our work for the fun of it, we only put on events that we enjoy. This results in the design of the program. If your interests are not yet represented here, you should not complain about it, but take the initiative yourself, contact us and take the organization into your own hands.
The basic prerequisite for our work is a basic consensus based on: Anti-sexism, anti-racism and anti-capitalism.
