In this two-day interactive face-to-face workshop, we will work on incorporating
evaluation and feedback into courses in such a way that
meaningful information that is conducive to teaching and learning can be obtained, reported back
and used for the further teaching-learning process. To this end,
we address benefits and relevance, as well as objectives, functions, principles, criteria and
formulations that need to be taken into account when using evaluation and feedback
. We also explain ways of developing these aspects with students
using practical examples. We look at methods that are suitable for implementation in face-to-face and
online teaching, depending on the
objectives and function of the application, and outline their use in our own teaching. We also
work out how we want to evaluate the feedback we receive and communicate it to
students. Using simulations of
feedback situations and subsequent reflection with feedback, we will hone the
constructive formulation of feedback and how to deal with
challenges.
In addition to input from the workshop leader with selected examples from
university teaching, there will be space for individual, team and group work, reflection and
discussion as a basis for further individual work after the workshop. An online padlet with
links to numerous resources and the workshop documentation is also available for
further work after the workshop.
