Right now, about 20 of your fellow students are working at the AStA to make sure your college experience goes as smoothly as possible. Here’s a look at exactly who we are.

The AStA represents the student body in dealings with the university, the city, and other external stakeholders. It coordinates student interests both internally and externally and—together with the Office for Press and Public Relations and the Office for Political Education and Culture (PÖ/PBK)—serves as the visible and communicative face of the student body as well as the central point of contact for external relations.

The executive board currently consists of Malte Moeller and the vice chairs Amélie Berg and Aljoscha Vollmer.

The Finance Department is responsible for budget planning as well as the financial and election-related tasks outlined in the HWVO, and maintains contact with higher-level authorities and external stakeholders. The Cashier’s Office serves as a supervisory and executive body, implements financial directives, and performs additional administrative tasks.

The Finance Department is currently represented by Malte Moeller, who serves as Executive Director. The Treasury Department consists of Denise Teschauer, Nick Lüpkes (Executive Director), and Simon Schneider.

The Office for Political Education and Culture organizes educational, activist, and cultural events, further develops the university’s cultural offerings, and represents related interests vis-à-vis the University of Siegen in collaboration with stakeholders both within and outside of Siegen. In addition, the Office for Climate Justice and Sustainability focuses on the university’s ecological transformation—for example, through measures such as greening the campus or expanding the network of water dispensers—promotes sustainable structures within the AStA, and collaborates with local stakeholders from the university, the city, and civil society to achieve these goals.

Malou Döppers, Tine Popa, Aljoscha Vollmer, and Carl Roller are currently responsible for political education and culture on your behalf. Tine Popa and Till Nunnenkamp are currently serving on the Sustainability Committee.

The Office for Social and International Affairs advises and supports students with financial and livelihood issues, such as refunds for the semester ticket or the granting of small loans. In addition, it assists with dealing with government agencies and offers other social and individual counseling services.

The SozI currently consists of: Isa Gunesch, Jane Lamb, Malou Döppers, Denise Teschauer, Roshni Tasnim, Johanna Gremler, Till Nunnenkamp, and Simon Schneider

The Family and Studies Project Office promotes dialogue between the university, the student body, and student parents; provides information about existing support and counseling services; and helps improve family-friendly study conditions, for example through financial assistance or by organizing childcare during school breaks.

Last but not least, there’s the Press and Public Relations Office. We maintain contact with newspapers and other media outlets, publish press releases and the AStA newsletter, and manage the student body’s social media channels—including this website!
