Department for Social and International Affairs (SOZI)

In our role as social advisors, we see it as our duty to provide all students with advice and support in all matters and to offer solutions to any problems or to work together to find solutions.

The AStA's social counseling service is independent, unbureaucratic, discreet and free of charge.

If you get stuck, we will try to find a solution together with you. We are also in contact with various counseling centers and will be happy to inform you about their services. However, we will often be able to help you directly with most questions. Just drop by and see us!

During the lecture period, the Social Department is always open from Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm for all consultations. The opening hours during the semester break vary and are usually announced well in advance.

Hardship application

You have the opportunity to apply for a refund of part of the semester fee, namely the mobility fee for the semester ticket (currently €208.80) including the solidarity euro (€4) (i.e. currently €212.80 in total).
There is a current hardship regulation that sets out the conditions under which you will be refunded the fee. In cases of doubt, the Hardship Commission decides.

Studying with a child

Having family responsibilities means a special burden and considerably more organization than just the timetable. Be it financial problems, childcare problems or psychological stress, these are all things we can help you with. We maintain contact with organizations such as Pro Familia and will do everything we can to make it easier for you to plan your studies with a child.

Reimbursement of vacation care

Dear students with child(ren),
You can apply to the AStA for reimbursement of the costs of vacation childcare. To do this, fill out the form and send it to us by post or email to sozref@asta.uni-siegen.de. Click here for the application.
