FAQ, deadlines, free attempts
Withdrawal up to one week before the examination date via unisono
is possible.
To withdraw from examinations due to illness, a medical certificate must be submitted to the Examinations Office within three days of the respective examination date. The submission can be made in electronic form by e-mail.
If the first examination date has not been passed or if a student withdraws due to illness, it is possible to retake the examination. Registration for the 2nd examination date must also be made via unisono
as well.
There is no entitlement to retake a failed examination or coursework in its original form.
In the Master's degree program, students can apply for a maximum of two failed examinations to be counted as free attempts.
Free attempts do not apply to: Master's thesis, oral examinations and colloquia.
The application for a free attempt must be submitted to the Examination Office within one month of the announcement of the examination result .
The application can be submitted informally by e-mail to examoffice-qs@nt.uni-siegen.de
informally.
If the candidate achieves a better grade in the resit examination than in the previous attempt, the previous attempt is deemed not to have been attempted and is replaced by the result of the resit examination.
If the same or a lower grade is achieved in the repeat examination, the grade of the previous attempt remains decisive.
According to the examination regulations, the module is a research internship with report.
The idea of this (compulsory) module is that students complete a short internship in a research group in order to get to know how research is carried out in a working group. Students should therefore work completely in a group for about 2-3 weeks (either all at once during the lecture-free period or spread out during the semester), work on a project there (experimental or theoretical) and then write a report about it. The specific content depends on the supervisor and the respective working group.
