Getting to know other cultures, languages and people - that's what studying or doing an internship abroad makes possible.

Faculty I of the University of Siegen has over 90 partnerships with universities in the Erasmus+ program and thus offers a wide range of exchange opportunities in Europe and overseas.

Schools students have the opportunity to select study locations abroad from the entire range of partnerships offered by the Schools.

For an initial overview, the University of Siegen offers information events and initial student advice. For further information and questions about specific programs, you can use the Erasmus+ office hours or the office hours for studies and internships worldwide.

Cooperation with the Institute of German Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU)

The German Department at the University of Siegen and the Institute of German Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) are currently preparing a cooperation which will focus on student exchanges. As part of the cooperation, three students per year from the University of Siegen will have the opportunity to spend one or two semesters studying at BFSU in Beijing.
In addition to the regular course offerings, exchange students will be able to obtain the "Introduction to Chinese Culture and Language (ICCL)" certificate jointly established by both universities by completing certain courses in the areas of language, regional studies and culture. The planned exchange program is aimed equally at Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral students.

Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest, Hungary

Eötvös Lóránd University (ELTE) is the oldest and largest university in Hungary. Founded in the 17th century, the university has a total of eight faculties, including the tradition-steeped Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
German studies at ELTE-Budapest is a complete German studies program with linguistics and literature, language didactics, Dutch studies and Scandinavian studies. The Institute is also home to the Hungarian-German Research Center.
As part of the ERASMUS partnership between the German Studies departments of ELTE and the University of Siegen, two students will be able to study and research for a semester in the heart of Budapest and in Siegen respectively from September 2020.

The deadline for applications is December 15 for the following winter semester.
