Equal Opportunities Department
"Diversity is our profession"
We advise and support university members and university management on issues of equal opportunities. This includes planning and implementing measures to establish and further develop a non-discriminatory organizational culture based on mutual respect.
Students and employees of the university receive individual advice and needs-oriented support services in the areas of gender equality, family and work-life balance, diversity and inclusion.

Our actions are based on the following principles:
We see equal opportunities as a joint task for the entire university. We therefore work closely with university management, faculties, central institutions, committees, student representatives and external partners and networks and promote binding cooperation. The department's information, services and procedures are designed to be as accessible and inclusive as possible in order to enable all members of the university to participate.
We do not look at dimensions of social inequality in isolation from one another, but rather in their possible overlaps and/or interactions and continuously reflect on existing power relations. In doing so, we also understand the university itself as a producer of mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion.
We work to high professional standards, guarantee discretion in consultations and reports submitted to us and focus on the perspectives and protection needs of (potentially) disadvantaged and marginalized people. We always disclose the goals and results of our work transparently in order to strengthen trust and traceability.
We are committed to ensuring that equal opportunities become a standard part of everyday university life - in teaching, studies, research, administration and university policy. We continuously improve our qualifications, regularly reflect on our practice based on an open culture of error and are always open to suggestions and criticism.
