The HYT offers individual counselling to junior professors and helps with all questions that may arise during this phase of their academic career. In a personal, confidential conversation, for example, the following topics can be discussed:

• What do I have to keep in mind for the interim evaluation ("Zwischenevaluation") after three years?
• What is the application and appointment process for tenure-track and lifetime professorships?
• Who can help me with research proposals?
• How do I deal with security-relevant research? When should my research be considered from an ethical point of view? When do I need an ethics vote?
• How can I use my scientific skills in other professional fields outside the university system?
• What "transferable skills" have I acquired during my academic career and how can I make them visible in my career portfolio?
