Everything at a glance
Basic internship in the Bachelor's degree program
The basic internship offers you the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the day-to-day work of research facilities or institutions with a clinical, pharmaceutical, diagnostic or health focus during your Bachelor's degree course.
The internship institution should be closely linked to the fields of digital health sciences and/or biomedicine.

Internship in the Master's degree program Biomedical Technology
The Master's degree program in Biomedical Technology gives you an initial insight into everyday clinical practice. In addition, an internship in a biotechnology company is planned in order to gain practical experience in industrial and applied areas.
Detailed information can be found in the respective module description in the FPO-M and from the responsible module coordinators.
Internships in the course of study
Basic internship in the Bachelor's degree program
The basic internship is scheduled in the 3rd or 4th semester of the Bachelor's degree course. It lasts 4 weeks or 160 hours and can be completed either

during the semester or
-
outside the lecture period (as a block internship of 4 weeks or in two sections of 2 weeks each)

Clinical internship in the Master's degree program
In the Master's degree course, the clinical internship is integrated into the 1st and 2nd semesters.
It comprises one week in each of the following areas:

Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Oncology in the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry of Diseases module

Neurobiology and neurosurgery in the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry of Diseases II module
Biotech practical course
The biotechnology practical course is part of the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology module and should be completed over a period of 1 week.
Procedure of the internship
Before the internship

Find an internship that is relevant to your studies and matches the content of your degree program.

Register the internship with the "Internship application" at the Examination Office.
During the internship

Carry out your internship in accordance with the guidelines of the internship institution during the designated period.

Then write your internship report (see internship report guidelines).

Submit the report together with the internship certificate to your internship supervisor.
After the internship
-
Submit the completed internship report to the Examinations Office for booking the achievement.
