Key competencies
Communication is a key competence that is a natural part of the Language Center's language courses. Intercultural competence, presenting and conducting conversations in (foreign) languages, written communication in different situational contexts and much more are part of the action-oriented acquisition of a language.
In addition, the Language Center also offers courses on special aspects of communication, which are open to students from all Schools and can be taken as an additional qualification, as an elective or as part of a certificate.
Registration
Registration for our communication courses in the summer semester takes place via unisono and is possible in the first and second phases:
Enrollment phase 1: February 16 - March 08, 2026
Enrollment phase 2: March 23 - April 05, 2026
If you are unable to take part in the course after all, you can deregister from March 9 to 22, 2026 via unisono. After this date, please cancel your registration by e-mail to sprachenzentrum@spz.uni-siegen.de

Admissions and waiting list
Please note the terms used in unisono:
admitted = You are admitted and have a place on the course.
Waiting list = You do not currently have a place on the course, but are on the waiting list. If you get a place, you will be set to "admitted".
Registered = You are ONLY registered for the course. Your registration is currently being processed. You do not currently have a place on the course.
canceled = Your registration has been canceled.
Important: Only come to courses to which you are admitted.
If you are admitted to a course, you will see this in unisono. You will also receive an e-mail with further information to your student e-mail address in good time before the course starts.
