Learning from the past for the future of entrepreneurship research

The scientific examination of social changes and challenges has repeatedly influenced and advanced the development of entrepreneurship research in the past. But given the changing challenges and contexts, don't fundamental assumptions, theories and methods that were previously considered standard approaches to entrepreneurship research need to be reconsidered? Professor David A. Kirsch (University of Maryland), Professor Daniel Wadhwani (University of Southern California) and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Friederike Welter in their article "Contextualzing the Canon: Sociohistorical Chance and the Future of Entrepreneurship Research". Among other things, they call for more creativity and multidisciplinary commitment as well as a willingness to break away from outdated organizational structures.

Their scientific article was published at the end of October in "Academy of Management Perspectives".
