Presentation of the Dirlmeier Foundation Sponsorship Award

As part of the Young Talent Day 2025, Dr.-Ing Jonas Immanuel Hölzer was awarded the Dirlmeier Foundation's sponsorship prize for his dissertation in the field of technical thermodynamics
Congratulations to Dr.-Ing Jonas Immanuel Hölzer for being awarded the Dirlmeier Foundation's sponsorship prize for his dissertation "Optimization of non-linear laser-based measurement methods for the characterization of reactive flows", which was awarded summa cum laude. The thesis was written at the Chair of Technical Thermodynamics in Siegen under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Thomas Seeger. The laudatory speech was held by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dirlmeier Foundation, Prof. Dr. Noyan Dinçkal. Mr Hölzer is continuing his research work on laser-based diagnostics for the optimization of processes with renewable energy sources at the University of Siegen as part of a post-doctoral position as a temporary academic advisor.
The Young Talent Day was held on December 11, 2025 in the Audimax. Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese, Rector of the University of Siegen, explained: "We are honoring people who are shaping and actively helping to shape our university today and in the future". In addition to the sponsorship prize and the historian prize from the Dirlmeier Foundation, two prizes from the IHK-Siegen, the prize for international young academics (donated by the Society of Friends and Sponsors of the University) and the DAAD prize were also awarded. Prof. Dr. Petra Vogel, Vice Dean for Young Academics, Diversity and International Affairs, hosted the award ceremony. In addition, 78 scholarships from the Studierendenförderfonds Siegen e.V. and the Deutschlandstipendium were awarded.
