The Future of Manufacturing
On August 29, 2024, Smarte Demonstrationsfabrik Siegen GmbH (SDFS) hosted the “Future of Manufacturing – Tech Trends and Insights” forum at the Buschhütten Campus. At this major German economic hub, leading experts from industry and academia gathered to discuss current and future developments and technologies in manufacturing.
As part of the event, Dr. Carolin Zinn and Maximilian Lutz, as the leadership team, presented the “Center for Smart Additive Manufacturing Siegen – SAM Siegen.” This interdisciplinary center is currently being established and aims to increase the University of Siegen’s visibility in the field of additive manufacturing. SAM Siegen is intended to serve as a point of contact for regional industrial companies on issues related to additive manufacturing, as well as to offer workshops and facilitate prototype production. In addition, the center aims to intensify collaboration with regional industry through joint research projects.
