Siegen psychology students exceptionally satisfied
Master's students of psychology are exceptionally satisfied with their studies at the University of Siegen. The detailed evaluation of the current Master's survey shows above-average to outstanding ratings in a variety of criteria. These include the general study situation, the quality of the courses on offer and digital teaching elements. Several indicators appear in the best rating level (e.g. "teaching quality" and "supervision ratio"), and students also emphasize the high accessibility and helpfulness of the teaching staff. Support during studies - for example in terms of organization and individual support - is rated particularly positively. The evaluation consistently shows ratings that are well above the overall average for all universities.
"We are extremely pleased that our Master's students give us such good marks, as we have formulated good study conditions as one of the most important goals of our rectorate work. A great deal of praise goes to the teaching staff and all employees who accompany and support the students in their studies. I would like to thank them very much," says University Rector Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese.
In addition to Psychology, the Master's degree courses in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were also evaluated in the ranking. In the Master's degree course in Electrical Engineering, the data also shows several areas with above-average satisfaction - for example in the supervision by lecturers and in the support provided during studies. The accessibility of lecturers and support with questions and problems are particularly emphasized.
The Master's degree course in Mechanical Engineering predominantly receives ratings that are in line with the overall average for all universities. Students were positive about the very good and individual support situation: personal contact with professors is possible and common, according to the comments.
"The positive feedback - especially in Psychology, but also in the other two degree programs - shows that our continuous work to improve study conditions is bearing fruit and motivates us to continue on our chosen path," says Prof. Dr. Hans Michael Merzendorfer, Prorectors for Studies, Teaching and Quality Management at the University of Siegen.
