Zoom X
New Features
To meet the needs of the University of Siegen, the functionality of Zoom X is being expanded. As a result, the following features will be available in the future:
- Zoom Chat (one-on-one and group chats) with file sharing,
- Zoom AI for transcription, live translation, meeting summaries, and chat translation,
- Calendar synchronization for Outlook,
- and the digital whiteboard.
Note:
AI features: If AI features are used in chats or meetings/webinars, any content shared there is not to be considered secret or confidential in a technical sense, despite the system being designed to comply with the GDPR. Therefore, AI features should not be enabled when discussing highly sensitive topics that require special protection.
External meetings: Zoom’sdata processing is governed by the host. If you join an external meeting that is not subject to Zoom X, data processing on EU servers is not automatically guaranteed.
