Faculty I: PC pools

Computer rooms of the Faculty I: Faculty of Arts and Humanities

The Faculty I: Faculty of Arts and Humanities operates two of its own PC pools, which can be booked by lecturers to hold computer-based seminars. Bookings are made via the central room administration via unisono. Faculty members have priority when booking. Booking is possible for a complete semester as well as for individual and compact dates.

For technical support, please contact Kai Hilpisch(hilpisch@phil.uni-siegen.de). This includes an introduction to the existing (special) equipment (dates by arrangement) and, if necessary, the installation of additional software. Please note that, for capacity reasons, software updates in particular can normally only take place during the lecture-free period and special requests are usually only possible for faculty members.

Workstations:

  • 30 PC workstations for students
  • 1 PC workstation for teaching staff

Media equipment:

  • HD projector (ZIMT connection box with HDMI, VGA)
  • Interactive whiteboard (SmartBoard type, only via teacher PC)

Special equipment:

  • Headsets at all workstations
  • Software-based language lab (Sanako Study 1200) with functions for computer-aided learning (voice chat and recording functions, remote control, electronic distribution/collection of tasks, etc.)
  • Clip-on partitions
