VPN - eduVPN
VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK
Note: eduVPN is currently still in trial operation and its use is voluntary. It is still possible to useopenVPN (in parallel) .
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) offers the possibility to connect to the network of the University of Siegen from a foreign network (e.g. from home) in a tap-proof and tamper-proof manner.
Access is via the free, open-source-based software solution eduVPN.
In brief
VPN gives you access to university content and services that are otherwise only accessible within the university, e.g. licensed databases
and electronic journals
with full texts from the university library. Access is via the free, open-source-based software solution eduVPN.
You log in using the user data of your university ZIMT account, as used for webmail or Moodle, for example.
