Course structure and procedure
- The content of the first two semesters is spread over four semesters in the dual study program.
- In the first two years, you will only be at the university 2 to 3 days a week during the lecture period.

You will spend the rest of the time - as well as the lecture-free period - in:
- in-company training
- inter-company training in the AWZ Bau
- Vocational school, if applicable (e.g. for draughtsmen at the Berufskolleg für Technik Siegen)
Examinations and graduation
The technical examinations are conducted by the HWK or the IHK.
The course itself concludes with the academic degree Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).

What is an apprenticeship-integrated dual study program?
A dual course of study integrated with training combines studying at a university with practical vocational training in a company.
Two degrees are obtained in the standard period of study of 8 semesters (4 years):
- a vocational qualification in a recognized training occupation
- the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in civil engineering

Which apprenticeships can I choose?
In the dual study program in civil engineering, you have the opportunity to choose from various practical construction or technical apprenticeships - depending on your interests and future career focus.
Among other things, you can choose from
- Professions in the building trade (e.g. bricklayer, concrete and reinforced concrete worker)
- Apprenticeships in the construction industry
- Technical draughtsmen and draughtswomen, e.g. in planning offices or administrations
The practical training takes place in close cooperation with a training company and an inter-company training center - ideally the AWZ-Bau (Aus- und Weiterbildungszentrum Bau) in Kreuztal-Fellinghausen, in the immediate vicinity of the University of Siegen.
