Starting your studies: Understanding together - shaping together
Regardless of their chosen specialization, all students start with a common foundation course. In the first two semesters, medical basics, medical informatics, statistics, epidemiology and health sociology are on the agenda - always with a view to digital healthcare. Common clinical pictures, biological processes and modern medical technology are also taught in a practical way. It is still possible to change your specialization during this phase, provided there is space available.
From the third semester onwards, students will be able to gain their first insights into current research projects on the digital health model region in the external basic internship. Courses on healthcare in rural areas (with a focus on South Westphalia) and on diagnosis and therapy run in parallel.
In the further course, students can expect interdisciplinary elective modules (e.g. ethics) and a seminar on scientific work - as preparation for the Bachelor's thesis and later work in research, development or practice.
